  1.                 --- THE FWEB/UNIX SUBDIRECTORY ---

  3.    Here you will find machine-dependent files for Unix operating systems,
  4. especially the custom.h and defaults.mk files necessary for bootstrapping.
  5. Presently you have your choice of the following machines or compiler
  6. environments (each one of which has its own subdirectory):
  7.  
  8.          ansi --- Fully ANSI compiler
  9.          apollo --- Apollo/UNIX
  10.              dsu --- DecStation/ULTRIX
  11.          sgi --- Silicon Graphics/IRIX
  12.              sun --- Sun (This is split into two subdirectories)
  13.            cc --- Sun's cc environment
  14.            gcc --- GNU gcc environment (PREFERRED).

  16.    Unix manual pages for FWEB are contained in the file manual/fweb.1.
  17. (However, these are not the principal source of on-line documentation for
  18. FWEB.  That is now the emacs info file fweb.info.)
